Delta businesses, mark your calendars for Wednesday, February 27, 2008, 11:30 am to 1:30 pm when the Delta Chamber of Commerce hosts its own business information session to learn about the vast range of opportunities before, during and after the 2010 Winter Olympics. If you are a manufacturer the opportunities go far beyond just Olympic venues and facilities. If you are in transportation, distribution and warehousing the opportunities are there. If you provide services the demand will continue to rise over the next two years. If you are in the hospitality and tourism business there could be not only up to 100,000 people coming during the Winter Olympics, but before and after. The massive warehouse distribution facilities of the major, global shipping company, Maersk (formerly HUDD), at 8400 River Road in Delta is the venue for the second in the Delta Chamber’s new series of events, Up Close and Personal, on Thursday, February 28, 2008, 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. The Maersk facilities serves the distribution needs of IKEA and Wal-Mart among others. The event features a tour, networking and a light lunch.
