Delta Visitor Centre Excels In Annual Tourism BC Report

The staff and volunteers at the Delta Chamber of Commerce/ Delta Visitor Center excel at customer service and tourism counseling according to a recent Tourism BC report that awarded the Delta office a score of 94 percent.

Each year, Tourism BC sends out a “secret visitor” to evaluate the quality of customer service at the network of Visitor Centres throughout the province. The evaluation, akin to “secret shopper” programs at other companies, is designed to reflect the level of customer service from the visitor’s perspective. It is conducted by an independent evaluator and the program is administered by Tourism BC.

This year, the Delta Visitor Center’s near perfect score attests to the high level of customer service provided to its visitors. According to the assessment, the secret visitors were “impressed with the counselor, who listened well and was very attentive to the visitors. The visitors found the counselor to be very friendly and helpful. Overall, the visitors had an enjoyable visit and wished they had more time to spend in Delta” says Angela Towle, Tourism Manager, quoting from the assessment report.

“This is excellent news for the Delta Visitor Centre. The students, volunteers and staff have all worked really hard to achieve a high level of customer service at the Centre. This year, we focused on making amendments to our exterior appearance which included a new travel access sign for visitors as well as beautifying our grounds. It’s a great feeling to know that we are treating our visitors with the highest level of customer service and that they are enjoying their time vacationing in beautiful British Columbia.” says Towle.

The Delta Visitor Centre offers a large selection of brochures on local, regional and provincial areas of British Columbia. As well, they have a large retail section complete with maps, BC Parking passes and hotel reservations.

The Delta Visitor Centre is one of 108 community operated Visitor Centres across the province. Visitor Centres are community operated under the direction of Tourism British Columbia.
