A Celtic Gala in support of the Delta Police Pipe Band concert Saturday, May 31, 2008 7:30 p.m.

The Delta Police Pipe Band is producing A Celtic Gala, starring Juno Award winning Celtic fiddler, Shona Le Mottee, played with Lord of the Dance, and her band. Also on the bill, is the Irish dance troupe, Dedanaan, with a world champion in its ranks, and North American champion soloist,Owen Barrington, and, of course, the 50-member Pipe Band which will provide well-known Scottish music and Highland Dance. Admission is $25.00 and tickets can be purchased from the following outlets after March 31st: Grapes 4 U, 150 - 4857 Elliott Street, Ladner, and Flowers by Design, 5666 - 12th Street, Tsawwassen;
or by phone at (604) 940-5040. Proceeds from the concert will support the Pipe Band in its many public appearances in the community and around the world as ambassadors of Delta in such locations as Edinburgh, Scotland, Norfolk, Virginia, Rotterdam, the Netherlands and Oahu, Hawaii. >>more information about the concert>>

Delta Farmland and Wildlife Trust BBQ fundraiser Friday, June 20, 2008

Delta Farmland and Wildlife Trust’s, biennial Summer Solstice BBQ fundraiser will take place at 6pm, Friday, June 20th, 2008 at the Roddick barn on Westham Island. Internationally renowned Chef Bruno Marti, of La Belle Auberge, and his team of BC’s top young chefs are preparing an epicure banquet for 330 guests featuring fresh local produce (catering proceeds go towards the Culinary Olympic Team of BC). Tickets to the event are $125 per person or $1125 for a table of 10. (This includes banquet meal, hosted bar and entertainment). >>more information about the event>>
